Effective immediately, the Toshiba America Client Solutions institution (TACS) becomes Dynabook Americas. The enterprise will expand and produce the familiar Portege, Tecra, and DynaEdge PCs for the U.S. Marketplace under the Sharp Corporation.
When Sharp acquired Toshiba’s PC enterprise in June, after 12 months, the destiny of Toshiba laptops within the United States was in jeopardy. Sharp has quenched those fears by saying that the Toshiba America Client Solutions organization could hold daily operations, albeit under the new Dynabook name. This way, the existing mid-variety Tecra laptops, and excessive-stop Portege laptops will be preserved to promote and evolve in the U.S. Because of the “Dynabook Tecra” and “Dynabook Portege,” respectively.
However, a new advantage for the Tecra and Portege R & R&D teams is that the engineers now have direct access to sources from Sharp. In the future, Dynabook laptops may come ready with Sharp panels to provide highly pleasant shows and specialized software programs designed to communicate with any Sharp printers or devices in the office.
The news comes numerous months after Toshiba introduced a comparable call exchange for the Japanese agency. It wasn’t until recently that Toshiba made public its plans to continue everyday operations for its American department. Thus, destiny Tecra and Portege laptops will more likely have international releases beyond the standard Asian territories. The Dynabook name is an homage to Toshiba’s original Dynabook J-3100 SS001 PC, launched in 1989.
